Heroes Manga Monday - 9/4/17
Hello manga fans,
Here's to another #heroesmangamonday. This next recommendation is one that is quite a doozy of a story. This was the Attack on Titan before it came to be. There are so many deaths that you need a counter, and the main characters just barely escape with the skin of their teeth. No one is safe from a grisly death by exploding to bits, being eaten or being decapitated. Even in the midst of all this death there are hints of friendship and romance, which shine through in the power of teamwork. This roller coaster ride is called "Gantz". A manga you should definitely read.
Oblivious to its citizens, there exists a room in Tokyo with a black sphere. Periodically, people who should otherwise have died are transferred to the room. Let's say that they are given a second chance. At first, everyone that appears in the room is bare, not even wearing clothes. There, the sphere gives them special suits and weapons. "Why do they need these?", you ask. Well apparently they now have to go and hunt aliens to protect the Earth. WTF, right? Well, while these missions take place, the rest of the world is largely oblivious to them. Afterall, those who take part in this "game" are supposed to be dead. These missions are lethal--not many participants even survive one to be honest. Here in this room, the black sphere calls the shots, and it's not even a bit nice. So what's its name?.....Gantz. This manga follows Kei Kurono and Masaru Kato through this deadly game that they must play in order to save themselves as well as the world.
This is one hell of story and currently the manga has been completed, so you can enjoy this roller coaster ride to its fullest. You can buy the manga on Amazon. There are also two full movies and a television series if you wish to see more. You can watch the series on Funimation.
Hope you enjoyed another #heroesmangmonday
